MedMinder is a connected pill dispenser for people who take medication on a schedule and want a reliable reminder system, plus a way for a family member or caregiver to know when a dose hasn't been picked up.
How it works day to day
Medications are sorted into cups that follow the prescribed schedule.
When a dose is due, that compartment lights up.
Reminders can include sounds, phone calls, and texts, depending on how it's set up.
You take out the cup, take the medication, and put the cup back.
If the scheduled cup isn't removed within the time window you set, designated caregivers can be notified.
What to know before you order
Removing a cup isn't proof the medication was taken. The dispenser knows the cup came out; it can't tell whether the pills were swallowed.
Locked or unlocked. It's one dispenser that can be set up either way. Locked setup limits access to only the dose that's currently scheduled. It restricts access; it doesn't make misuse impossible.
Refills. You or a caregiver can fill the cups yourselves, or you can use MedMinder's pharmacy service. Whoever fills it is responsible for keeping medications and schedules current. Prescriptions and pharmacy charges aren't included in the $100 monthly fee.
Connectivity. Built-in cellular service means it can work without home Wi-Fi where cellular coverage is good enough. Calls, texts, and caregiver notifications need a connection. If the connection drops, those alerts are delayed until it comes back.
Capacity. Holds up to 28 days of medication, depending on your schedule and tray setup.
Power. MedMinder estimates the backup battery lasts about 6–12 hours in a power outage. Actual runtime varies.
